Inspiring the next generation of female entrepreneurs

We’re beyond excited to share that our very own founder, Sophia Rizzo, has been officially named the GLOW 2025 Ambassador for the Academy for Enterprising Girls — a national initiative dedicated to empowering young women to lead, dream big, and create change.

GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) is a free DIY event series for secondary schools, designed to ignite leadership, creativity, and confidence in girls aged 12 to 18. Powered by the Academy for Enterprising Girls and supported by the Australian Government, GLOW provides students with the tools, inspiration, and support to lead events that build school-wide momentum around female leadership and entrepreneurship.

From Sparkle to Spotlight

Sophia’s journey is the perfect example of what GLOW represents. At just 10 years old, she founded Glitter Girl, an eco-conscious glitter and makeup brand built to inspire joy, creativity, and self-expression. Now 17, Sophia has become a nationally recognised teen business leader, known for her vibrant spirit and fearless pursuit of her dreams.

In 2024, she became the youngest-ever entrepreneur invited onto Shark Tank Australia for the 2024 series, was honoured as a finalist in the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards in May 2023, and Awarded the Gold Coast Bulletin, Young Woman of the Year Award in 2022. Through it all, Sophia has remained passionate about helping other girls believe in their own potential.

"I know what it’s like to have a big idea and not know where to start," says Sophia. "That’s why I’m so proud to be part of GLOW 2025 — because every girl deserves the chance to lead, dream, and build something incredible."
