Spreading the Glitter Girl Aussie Spirit during Commonwealth Games Gold Coast 2018

What an exciting time it should be on the Gold Coast at the moment with the great honour we have had hosting to 2018 Commonwealth Games! And add to that how well all our athletes are doing in the medal tally making it Australia’s most successful Commonwealth games to date. 

But while our top athletes are breaking record after world record Gold Coast Business’s have been suffering over the Commonwealth Games period… Many choosing to close their doors after the governments advice about road congestion and closures and others affected by so many locals afraid to venture out or choosing to vacation elsewhere to avoid the chaos. 

But here at Glitter Girl HQ we decided instead of waiting for the people to come to us, we would go to the people! 

As we sat mixing our fabulous biodegradable glitter mixes for our up coming “Festival Range” which includes a Glitter Beard Kit, Glitter Lips Kit, Glitter Eyebrow Kit and a Glitter shirt Kit we found 2 fabulous (and very brave) people, covered them in the Aussie colours of Green & Gold Glitter, and went to the people enjoying all the festivities the coast has to offer to spread the message of Pride, Love and Happiness! 

We jumped onto the G-Link and straight into the action with a profoundly joyous and positive response from crowds enjoying the sounds of the glorious Courtney Act & Marcia Hines performing as part of Festival 2018 Sparkle In The Sand and supporting the Gold Coast LBGTQ community.

Not only were the people enjoying the event happy to see us but the businesses were happy to let us take pictures and draw people to their shops as we caused a frenzy of photographers trying to snap a pic of all the Glittery Goodness we were spreading.

Being able to get amongst the people gave us a greater understanding of who was there, as visitors and locals trying to support our wonderful Gold Coast. It was wonderful to see the reactions from people from all walks of life when we told them we are a LOCAL Glitter company run by a 10yo girl! Every family enjoyed jumping into the Instagram frame to snap a photo with our Glitter Tribe. We hope our story of our Glitter business make them realise if they have a dream they too could be bossing around the adults running a magical business of their own!

It was such a fabulous vibe and an amazingly friendly crowd! So worth the effort to get our message out there! “Spreading Happiness one Speck of Glitter at a Time!”
