How to wear glitter makeup

You may think that glitter makeup is only for dress ups and special occasions, but glitter makeup is so much more wearable than that. Here are some easy tips for you to glitter up your makeup looks with loose glitter.

Glitter Makeup for EYES

The eyes are the obvious choice for applying glitter makeup, but that’s for good reason! Loose glitter applied to your eyes can give a beautiful, glamorous look. The main concern with using glitter is the risk of it falling into your eyes, but you can easily combat this with primer. There’s even a Glitter Girl primer gel specifically made for your glitter application. Once you’re primed, you can apply glitter just about anywhere on your eyes. A light dusting over your shadow is subtle, while a concentrated amount along your liner adds a real pop. You can even apply it to your lashes for a more dramatic look.

Please always be careful when using glitter near your eyes.

Glitter Hair

A big trend right now is applying glitter along the part of your hair. It’s a fun look and super easy – just grab your favourite loose glitter and a good hair wax or gel. We prefer to use a hair gel, Apply the wax or gel along your part with a silicone brushand into your hair, then dust the loose glitter on top, and you’re done! Another suggestion is to mix the glitter into the hair gel first, and then painting it one the hair. This gives you a really amazing strong glitter hair look but we think dusting it on after gives you better control over placement. Brush it through, and you’ll have a subtle shimmer in your ‘do.

Glitter Makeup for your Lips

Another fun option for loose glitter is the lips. We have a simply Glitter Lips kitwith everything inside you need to make your lips dance and sparkle. Just apply our Unicorn Glosslip product, and pat a light dusting of loose glitter on top. You can use a range of glitter sizes here – finer for just a hint of sparkle or a chunky glitter for a more unique look.

Glitter Nails

This is one of our favourite places to use glitter. It’s fun, but not too obvious or messy. Apply the glitter just after you’ve painted your nails, that way the glitter has something to stick to. You can apply a dusting all over the nail, in a stencil for a cool pattern, or on just the tips for a fun twist on the French manicure. Simply paint your nails with a clear coat, then dust or dip your nail with glitter and paint a second coat of gloss over the top to seal.
